This method is only used for pipe insulation that contains loose asbestos and where the concentration of 0.01 fibers / cm³ is not exceeded.

Conditions for using incubator bag method:

• total diameter of the pipe including insulation is not more than 60 cm
• it concerns a single pipe that is easily accessible
• the temperature of the pipe is a maximum of 30°C internally and externally
• the insulation is hardly damaged or few fibers are visible and minor damage is such that it can be sealed by adhesive tape
• the insulation is not surrounded by a hard jacket
• the incubator bag must be able to be placed around the pipe without any problems
